She spat out a rainbow,
but it kept coming back.
She hurled & she squeezed,
but it kept coming back.
She purged.
She shot.
Did everything but drop

& still

though she fought

it just wouldn’t

stop.

For there was no end to the rainbow,
you see
& once it has you
you can never be free.

So next time you see
that colorful beam
in the east, west
north or the south
take it in through the eyes
but NEVER
the mouth.
