I love the pov differences; 3rd & 1st… it’s bound to make a dynamic that both complicates & compliments the characters. There’s a ‘relationship’ of identity that’s inimitable! Can’t wait!!😜
Two people not necessarily interacting, but somehow influencing each other. Seems like a creative definition of quantum entanglement. Such a nice thing, Jon T., thanks ;-)
I went back and watched it. I am very fascinated to see how it plays out. Both of you are very not boring. I love seeing this kind of collaboration. Can't wait to see what happens. Would love to see more collaborations & processes. Can't say mine is that interesting. People would watch me listen to music as I write. I just wrote on one go. Love seeing a world where people aren't like that though.
I love what you both wrote, different poetics, different worlds, different POVs. Very inspiring.
Thanks Edith. We will see how it goes. I am going to write my section tonight. We would like to see more collabs like this too. Thats why we are doing it.
It's definitely inspiring. I hope everyone links up. Will be following as much as I can in between classes. 🙏 Sneak in a few times. I will not be writing anymore 19 pg mock dissertations, so I'll even be open to things.
Thank you, Edith! Happy you think so. Would you be able to do your writing exercises using the live feature? Everything you've told me about them sounds fascinating.
My playlists are usually shuffle though, if I thought about moving them in order it would take much too long. So it would be Russian Roulette and I would give people options probably heavy stuff for doomy experimental stuff, and then if they like lighter stuff they can have my dream wave dream pop list.
I can, but I haven't done it in a long time. But I can give a representation of what it could be like. I listen to music and write on my notes app. Typically unless there's a breathing Google doc somewhere but even then, it's on there. I like the ability to zoom in and only see the words. I see nothing else in my peripheral. It will be a warm up. I can't promise it will be good but that way. It would be authentic. But typically yes. I can write on the fly. I rarely simmer, but I imagine a concept beforehand very quickly. And then just completely stream of consciousnessness. I split Substack Zone into different days, but I wrote in total stream of consciousness, layer by layer. No plans. My long form pieces are typically a few hours my short form are about an hour. So I should be able to get at least a paragraph in or more if I'm feeling the story. I've done collaborative before, I created an idea, and got 3 writers to communicate a concept that flowed without destroying the vision on Nine Story Hotel, sort of like a strange symbiosis. Building an entire character arc. But I think if I ever communicated with another writer, on a concept, I would be able to imagine a concept long enough to let it hit me. I liked Substack Zone because I had to force myself into a control, 'make it tense and creepy but no graphic horror' it was very hard but I liked the challenge!
I have never tried doing that I am sure there's an option available. I can look into it on Monday and organize something for next week. I will have to look into it. I would probably share my Spotify so everyone could listen to shuffle playlist as I go. So it's a vibe. I literally just stick in my hot pink earbuds and write on my notes app.
Music changes between doom metal/experimental/dreamwave etc. But lately it's been more of doomy experimental stuff.
According to Emil, I apparently make tuffs of air come out of my noise and I breathe heavy 🤣 must be all those feeeels I write about. I bet someone could put on a timer, or I could read the hour I put in on the novella I'm reworking it's going to be...intense..
sorry about my audio everyone - i've got to clean the arachnids outta my microphone

Its going to be very interesting. 🧐
Thanks! I agree. There's a lot to explore here!

Lookin’ good, boys!🍻
I'm jealous of Jon's beard. It's so full of mystery.
Yeah, beards are cool. But I think you looked great! ☺️ It’s so weird to see y’all are real people.😅
I used a proxy Mike B - dont say anything. Mike says thanks.
Thank you, Kathrine! Kind of you to say. Yes, unfortunately I am real person. 😅

Love it. An interactive writing session AND sharing music? That's a win.
Or some of our other author people. Tag anyone
What if you joined the live session, you gave me a prompt on the fly, and I wrote it in 15 minutes?
That would be incredible. You can write under that kind of pressure? That's wild. Some kind of superpower!
